Eye exams are not just about checking your vision. Many systemic diseases can cause signs/symptoms related to the eye. Routine eye exams are important because some signs in the eye can also point to systemic diseases even before diagnosis of the condition.
Systemic conditions can affect the eye:
-Diabetes
-High Blood Pressure
-High Cholesterol
-Multiple Sclerosis
Dr. Jerry Cao will also perform medical eye examinations to ensure there are no eye complications from your condition. Dr. Cao will also coordinate care with other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
